2 Thessalonians 3:16

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”

In the world today it is hard to find peace. If we look to others or the world itself to provide peace, we will not find a lasting peace. We might have if for a moment, but it will be fleeting. Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonians was written to give encouragement and reassurance. We also can take those things to heart from reading this book. Just as we are, they were under pressure because of their faith. In the first chapter we find what suffering can do to us, in the second chapter we are assured of final victory, and finally in the third chapter we are encouraged to continue living responsively despite of difficult circumstances. This is how we find peace in the Lord. Do you need peace today?

Dear Lord, thank you that you provide peace for me. Help me to remain in this peace when the world around me seems to be going crazy. Give me your wisdom and courage to help others find peace also. I pray all this in Jesus name, Amen.
