Psalm 103:1-2 NIV

“ 1. Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name.  2. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits –“

This is a Psalm written by David. He begins by praising God and all He has done for him. It is easy to complain, we can find reasons all around us, but David’s list in this Psalm gives us plenty to praise God. He forgives our sins, heals us, redeems us from death, and He crowns us with compassion and love. And to top it all off, we receive these things without deserving any of them. He also gives us righteousness and justice on top of all else. No matter how hard life’s journey is for us, we must remember to count our blessings, past, present, and future. So, remember, when you feel like you have nothing to praise God about, read David’s list. What are you praising God for today?

Dear God, I praise your name, I praise all the wonderful things you do for us. Give me your courage and strength to remember all that you have done for me. Help me help others see how blessed they are. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
