Ephesians 2:4-7

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”

Paul emphasizes here that we no longer have to live under sins control. We were dead because of our sins but now that Jesus has come to save us, we have eternal life. God could have left us where we were, living our lives through codes and laws but he did not want his creation to live like that forever. Because of Jesus’ resurrection our bodies will be raised from the dead. We have been given the power to live according to what God wants for us, not what the devil wants. Even though life has dealt us some heavy blows, our eternal life with Christ is certain and secure because we are united in victory with him. Can you give praises to our King?

Dear God, thank you that you loved me so much that you sent your Son so that I may have eternal life and live in victory with him. Give me courage to share with others the opportunity that Christ has given them. Help me to be a better person here and now. I pray this through Jesus’ name, Amen.
