Jeremiah 29:11-14

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

If you have spent anytime within the church walls or speaking with Christians, Jeremiah 29:11 should sound familiar to you. In the setting of Jeremiah 29, we find that verse 11 is referring to the Lord’s plans for Israel’s people from the start. This is a reiteration of the guarantee that he constantly keeps his commandments and promises. Our leaders today encourage us to move forward, believing with Jesus the task can be accomplished. God was that type of leader for the Israelites, as well as being one for us today. The agenda that God has made for us are both good and full of hope. If we allow God to direct our plans and we allow him to go with us to achieve our mission, we will have a bounty of hope. This does not mean, nor does He promise us, to be pain free or to not have difficulties here on earth. However, He does see us through to a magnificent conclusion. What plans does God have for you?

Dear God, I pray that my spirit is in tune with yours. That when you call me to a mission, I hear you and go along with you on the journey. I know that there will be difficulties along the way, there will be pain and suffering but I know that with You on my side I can never lose. Please use me in advancing your kingdom and give me courage to do so. I pray all these things in your name. Amen.
