Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart[DW1] , and do no lean on you own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and He will make your paths straight.”

God asks us to trust. I tried to do a word search just to see how many times the word trust appears in the bible and the closest thing I got was that it appears 134 times in the Old Testament and 13 times in the New Testament. Do not quote me on this because I am not certain that it is correct but at least it gives us an idea how important trust was to God. Either way, we know that when we trust someone, we become vulnerable to them. As I sit here writing this my dog lays beside me, I scratch his tummy, this is his most vulnerable position. So, I take it he trusts me. God wants us to trust him like that. To turn to him and let our most vulnerable selves to shine through. If we do this “he will make our paths straight.” Okay so maybe today I am not that knowledgeable because even as I read this, paths, I’m thinking does God send us on multiple paths? I think I need to do more research and revisit this Scripture again. And if anyone out there has some knowledge please share. Will you trust God today?

Dear God, I know that there are times that I just don’t get the whole concept of what you are trying to relay to me. Please continue to grow me in your faith and knowledge. I feel so humble that you would love us enough to put things in our path that would make us long for more knowledge. I praise your name and pray all this in your name, Amen.
