Song of Solomon 4:7 NLT
“You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.”
Sometimes when I look in the mirror, I do not see the beauty that God sees. Perhaps its because I am comparing myself with today’s worlds vision of beauty. The worlds’ view of beauty can be tricky, it sets a standard that is unrealistic. It seems to be designed to incite competition and/or comparison. I have to remind myself that beauty cannot be comparative. Beauty is different for different people. The worlds’ view can leave us feeling less than, instead of being enough. If we trust God and His Word, we should know that we are not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well. When we accept Christ, we realize that we are created in His image. We are created to not be compared to other people. God designed you to be you not someone else. You were made to be more than enough. What do you see when you look in the mirror?
Dear Lord, please remind me of how you see me, that I was created just the way I was supposed to be. Help me to be an example of a confident daughter of the king. Thank you for being so concerned about your daughters that you let us know how you look at us. I pray all this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
