Romans 10:11

“For the Scripture says, ‘Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.’”

Our lives that God has set out for us does not begin in heaven but here on this earth. This message is a message of grace. Please accept this in your heart, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” That doesn’t just mean when we go to heaven but right here right now. God does not have it in his plan for us to deal with shame. When we accept Jesus as our savior, he gives us the opportunity to not be ashamed. Now does that mean we can go about willy nilly doing whatever pleases us? We will not feel shame, but he can still convict us. This he does to not punish us, but to grow us in our faith and for us to have the best life we can have here on earth. Remember this shame is not from God. John 10:10 tell us, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” Satan is the one who comes to us and tries to separate us from God. Be that through the feeling of shame or condemnation or other means, we know these are not from God. I know that I still struggle with this but when I get those feelings, I turn to the Word to reaffirm who God is and who he says I am. Are you struggling?

Dear Lord, help me with the feelings of shame that come upon me periodically. Help me to see that this is not from you but from the thief who is trying to separate me from you. Please help me see those around me that might be struggling, give me your wisdom and words to help them in their struggles. I pray this through Jesus’ name, Amen.
