John 16:33
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confidant, be undaunted, be filled with joy] I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is completed, my victory abiding.] Amplified Bible
What if you found yourself standing inside a glass box, you would have to remind yourself that if anything came at you, they would not be able to penetrate the glass. This is how we should envision our troubles as they come at us. The above verse tells us that God has us. We have perfect peace in him. Now does that mean that we will not be affected by troubles, yes, we will, but we need to remind ourselves that God is in control. He will help us to get through or even to avoid those problems. This does not mean for us to stick our heads in the sand, but to put the full armor of God on so that we may have peace in the midst of chaos. Do you need God’s peace today?
Dear Lord, thank you that you watch over me. That your Word teaches me to not be overwhelmed with tribulations and to be courageous. Help me to remember this verse when I am in distress. Give me your eyes to share your Word with others as well as your love for them. Thank you again that you have overcome the world. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
