II Corinthians 12:10

“This is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecution, in difficulties. For when I am weak, that I am strong.”

What if what we think as imperfections are actual advantages? Society leads us to believe that if we are not perfect, we are not worthy. That is nothing but a lie. If we look at this verse and take it to heart, we see we are made strong in our weaknesses. During our weak times, God gives us the opportunity to grow and be made more like Christ. We also learn the power of supernatural dependence, doing things through Gods strength and not our own. When God meets us when we are down, He has an open door to come in and supply our soul with wisdom and healing. He helps us to get back up and to show others how to rise as well. Surviving these down times helps us to move forward into the glory zone. Our strengths are a clue as to where God wants us to serve, work, impact, lead, and prosper. Your strengths can help others to see where they may need to be seasoned or skilled as you are. This does not mean we should want others to be like you, but to be who God made them to be. Where are your weaknesses, and what is God trying to teach you?

Dear God, thank you that you are always helping me to grow and learn. Thank you that my weaknesses are not meant to weigh me down but an opportunity to be strong. Help me to help others see what you are doing in their lives. Give me your strength to not give up. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
