2 Corinthians 5:18-19
“Now all these things are from God who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
We are reconciled! What does it mean to be reconciled? The word reconcile means to restore a friendly relationship between, to cause to coexist in harmony. To be reconciled to God means that we are in relationship with Him, to coexist with Christ. He blotted out our sins and made us righteous in Him. When we trust Christ, we are no longer God’s enemy or a foreigner to Him. To have the ministry of reconciliation means that we have the privilege of encouraging others to do the same. What a privilege we have to be both reconciled and to be reconcilers. Jesus died for each one of us, even before we knew Him. All we must do is turn towards Christ and trust in Him. Do you trust Christ?
Dear God, thank you that you have reconciled us to you. Please give me the strength and wisdom to encourage others. Thank you that you send Jesus to die for my sins. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
