Psalm 103:13-16

“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.”

Because we are fragile, God’s care for us is eternal. We often look at God as a judge or lawgiver, ignoring his compassion and concern for us. When he looks at our lives, he remembers our human condition. However, our weakness should never be a way to justify sin. We need to trust God; he will deal with us compassionately. I struggle with this sometimes, its hard for me at times to look at God as a compassionate Father due to my past. But he has been faithful to heal my emotional wounds and to forgive my sin. He is always with us, even if we do not realize it. Turn to God during good times and bad, he is a faithful Father. Are you turning to God?

Dear Lord, thank you for your love. Give me strength to endure this life and live it passionately for you. Help me to remember that you are a compassionate Father. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
