Mark 16:16

“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

What is the next step? People would say that the Word tells us that the next most likely step in being saved would be to be baptized. This is our outward expression of accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Some say to be complete in the salvation of God that this must take place. However, if we are just going through the motions and do not have faith, baptism is not going to save you alone. What I question about this being the fulfillment of salvation is that when the young man next to Jesus on the cross was saved by believing in Jesus but he was not baptized, we know that people can be saved without being baptized. Water alone, without faith, does not guarantee us a spot in heaven. We do know those that do not accept Jesus as Savior will not be saved whether they are baptized or not. What do you think?

Dear God thank you for your salvation. Help me understand how we are saved, give me peace in my spirit that I am saved. I want to follow you all of my days. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
