1 Peter 2:9-10
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you our of the darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you were had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”
These verses are loaded with different aspects of being saved and being part of the body. God has called you out of the darkness into the light. Let the light shine upon your face and take it all in. We often base our worthiness or self-concept through our own accomplishments. This accomplishment of salvation is not of your own doing. Yes, you had to accept Jesus as you Savior and repent from your sins, but He was always waiting for you to come to him. We have been chosen by God as his very own. Imagine no matter what you have done or have been involved with, God has chosen you! Your value comes from the Lord and nothing that you can do on your own. We have mercy through God’s great mercy, whether we deserve it or not. Now we can come into God’s presence without fear, we are free to have a close relationship with him. Isn’t it awesome! Are you in the Lord’s presence?
Dear God thank you for your mercy. I am so grateful that by no means of my own you are there for me to have relationship with Him. Help me to share this with others. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
