James 1:2-3
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
It isn’t until we are under pressure, do we realize the strength of our character. It is easy to be kind to others when things are going well but hard when things become more difficult, and with more conflict that we receive. I must remind myself of this. I work with the public and most times it is easy to be kind to those I am helping. But what happens when I come across a difficult person or situation? Do I remember to be kind in the face of adversity? I wish I could say that I do all the time, but that would be a lie. I sometimes forget the love of Jesus for all individuals, I forget to put myself in their shoes, I forget the kindness that is easy to show in easy times. Enduring through trials helps to develop a whole person, seasoned, experienced, well developed, and fully trained. Do you take the time to be kind to those that it is hard to show empathy to?
Dear God, thank you that you are always teaching me. Help me to remember to be kind and to show your love to everyone. Give me your patience and gentleness so that I may show them myself. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
