James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
How many of us seek wisdom from everywhere but the ultimate source? It’s not bad to seek wisdom from others, but we need to remember that God always has our best interest at heart and just as the Scripture tells us, if we ask for wisdom, it will be given to us. This wisdom that we need has three distinct parts; it is practical, it is divine, and it is Christlike. Being practical means that God’s wisdom relates to our lives even in difficult times, the divine aspect means it goes beyond common sense, and the Christlike aspect is us asking to be more like Christ. Are you seeking God’s wisdom for your life?
Dear Lord, thank you that your wisdom is available to me. Help me to remember to seek you for wisdom so that I may be more Christlike. Give me your strength in the difficult times to look for you in every aspect of my life. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
