Psalm 119:81-84

“My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word. My eyes fail, looking for your promise; I say, ‘When will you comfort me?’ Though I am like a wineskin in the smoke, I do not forget your decrees. How long must your servant wait? When will you punish my persecutors?”

Do you ever feel like the psalmist, longing for your salvation and for God punish your persecutors? Waiting on God can be quite difficult. We are always in a hurry for something to happen. We want to move forward with the plan, I am at fault for this, we want to get something done. No matter how anxious or how long it takes for God to act on our behalf’s we need to rely on him to know the right timing. We need to continue to put our hope in him and his Word. When we feel anxious and impatient, we need to dive into his Word, let it surround us and lift us up right where we are. Do you rely on the Word?

Dear God thank you for your Son. Help me to increase my patience so that I may wait on your timing. Let me be more like you and less like me, give me the love and power to share with others to have patience. I pray this through you Sons name, Jesus, Amen.
