Romans 8:9-10
“You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.”
Have you ever worried that you were really a Christian? I have on occasion struggled with this thought. Perhaps its because we are mere mortal men, incapable of being Christ-like without Christ that we worry. But the only thing we need do is to trust in Jesus, believe with our whole heart and minds that he is the Lord, and the Holy Spirit will fill us with his Spirit. You might not change overnight but God is a patient God, and he waits on us to turn to him to help us change our habits and become more Christ-like. Does that mean that we will be perfect here on earth? No, it’s a daily struggle, at least for me, to keep my focus on him and not the things that are temporary and surround me. Do you know that God loves you?
Dear God, thank you for your unconditional love. I pray that I will keep looking to you for your help to grow more like Christ each day. Help me to help others realize who they are in you. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
