John 4:7-9
“When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, ‘Will you give me a drink?’ (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) The Samaritan woman said to him, ‘How can you ask me for a drink?’ (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans).
During Jesus life on earth, it was known that Jewish people did not speak to Samaritans. She was a member of a hated mixed race and being known to be living with a man that she was not married to. No respectful Jew would be caught dead talking with her. But Jesus did. Why? The gospel is for everyone, regardless of their race, standing in their community or their culture. Jesus by doing this crossed all social and political barriers and we as followers of Christ must do the same thing. We need to show the same love that Jesus did for the Samaritan woman. Are you sharing the love?
Dear God, thank you that you love everyone not matter where they are from or what their cultural influences may be. Help me share your love with other. Give me your unconditional love to show to others who you truly are. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
