Love is the Reason for the Season

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Well, we are in the season of love, the time when Jesus was born for our sins to be forgiven and for us to have eternal life. This is ultimate love. I had to remind myself today that God loves me so much that he sent his son to earth to die. Why you may ask? Because I had to go out to the store on the Saturday before Christmas, enough said. Reminding myself this also reminded me to love my neighbor as myself and that I am forgiven every day. And that everyone around me is loved by God no matter where they stand in the mix. He loved us before we were separated from him by sin. Everyone. I am not here to debate the matters that separate us from each other, like murder, suicide, molestation etc. that is above my wheelhouse where God is concerned, but I do know that the Word says that Jesus loves us.

Dear Lord thank you for your love. Help me to love others as you love me. Thank you for your forgiveness of down falls. Give me your love to help others to know you. In your Son’s name, Amen.
