1 John 3:1

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.”

We are loved! Something about having kids opens your heart to a love you never felt before. We don’t want them to be hurt, sick or sad. We want the very best for them. It is the rare circumstance when a parent does not feel this way. We, as children of God, are loved even more, can you imagine. He loves us like a mother, father, spouse, or parent all rolled into one. Our feeling for our children is only a small example of how God loves us. God knows every single part of us and still loves us beyond measure. Before I had a relationship with God, I had no idea and still struggle to comprehend the love He has for me. Who do we know that would send their son to this earth to suffer, die and take on our sin for us? That love is beyond our imagination, soak this in, nothing you can do can make Him not love you. Do you need God’s love today?

Dear Lord, thank you for your love for me. Help me to remember this when I am having a bad day or even a good day. Give me your wisdom and strength to love on others like you love me. Thank you for all the sacrifices you have made for me. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
