Galatians 2:20

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.”

We are a new creation. When Jesus died on the cross for us, He took on our lives, so when we say we are saved, it is not by our works but that of Christ’s. If you believe that Jesus died for you, according to the Scriptures, was raised on the third day, accepted His sacrifice and repented of your sins you are saved. Jesus himself came to this earth so that we may be crucified with Him, figuratively, that it is no longer yourself that lives in you but Christ. We are taken from Adam’s fallen race and transferred into Christ’s Body – a new creation in Him. My death in Christ means that the old me, the old self, the old sin nature, died in Christ when Jesus died on the cross. But it also means that when Jesus rose from the dead we were risen with Him into a new identity. I left my identity in Adam to live my life with an identity in Christ. Are you living in Christ?

Dear Lord, thank you that you loved me so much that you would come down to earth, to live like a man, be betrayed, die on the cross and on the third day be risen, so that I may have eternal life in you. Help me to remember that I belong to you, to live my life as you would or to the best of my ability. Give me the wisdom to help others realize how much you love them. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
