Psalm 9:7-10
“The Lord reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgement. He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”
God will never abandon us. To seek him, we need to reach out to him, surrender our hearts, and minds to him. We find him in prayer, in the Bible, in fellowship with others and in his Son, Jesus. His promise does not mean that if we trust in him, we will escape loss of suffering but it means that God will never leave us or abandon us. When we seek his face, his love and comfort will help us to get through the times of suffering. We need to rely on him and not ourselves or others to help us with that. Do you need God today?
Dear Lord, thank you that you never abandon me. Help me to understand this in my heart and mind. Give me your love to show to others. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
