Psalm 9:15-18

“The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden. The Lord is known by his acts of justice; the wicked are ensnared by the works of their hands. The wicked go down to the realm of the dead, all the nations that forgot God. But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.”

Even though the world may ignore the dilemma of the needy, quelling any earthly hope that they may have; God the supporter, promises that this will not be the case forever. Those wicked nations that have forgotten God and do not help their people will be judged by the Lord. God knows what we need, he realizes our tendency to be hopeless, and still he has promised to care for us. Even when everyone around you forgets, God remembers. Do you know that God is your great protector?

Dear God, thank you for being my great protector, that you should know everything that I am thinking and doing. Help me to remember this during rough times as well as the good times. Give me your strength to share your love with those around me. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
