Ephesians 5:1-2

“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

Just as little children imitate their parents so must we imitate God. How do we do this? By modeling our lives after Jesus who, as the Son of God, was the incarnation of God on earth. He loved us greatly, and it led him to sacrifice himself so that we may have eternal life and a relationship with God. So should our love for others reflect what Jesus did for us, that love that he showed us we must show others. This love goes beyond affection to self-sacrificing service. Are we showing others the true love of God?

Dear God help me to show your true love to others. I thank you that you came to this earth to give us an example of this love. Give me a truthful and kind heart, so that I may be a witness to others. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
