For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to buildup. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time throw away. A time tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NLT)

When your season doesn’t look like you think it should, what do you do?. I think it’s in everyone’s DNA at some point to want what someone else has, or to wish we could be on what we think is the greener grass in their world. However, it doesn’t work that way. Have you ever pushed yourself so hard to be where you think you need to be to finally find out its not God’s plan? Or maybe it is God’s plan for us down the road but not for right now? What do we do then? For me I must take the time to stop and reevaluate who really sent me on this mission, God, or myself? It could be you are right where you need to be, but it doesn’t feel like you thought it would once you got there. Wherever you are on your journey you need to take the time to pray and ask God for guidance, this is sometimes something I lack. I want to run ahead of what God is doing or saying, to only find out that God is still with me, but he is also reminding me that I am ahead of myself. What I have found that helps me is to get a few good faithful Christians to pray with me to hear Gods calling clearly and to have an accountability partner who is not afraid to say that I need to rethink things and continue praying. So, what can I pray for your today?

Dear God, please give me patience to wait upon you for my direction and give me that nudge when I need to move on if need be. I pray through all this and ask you to continue to show me your people who are lost and alone right where I am. Not to just wait to get where I think I’m going. Help me to show your love to everyone who crosses my path so that I can be obedient to you. And if I am right where you want me to be, and I feel discontent I ask you give me your grace and mercy to stay where I am until you move me on or until I complete that task you have asked of me right where I am. You are so amazing to let us know that there is a season for everything, not for just right now but for my life. I ask all this in you Son’s name, Jesus Christ. Amen.
