Romans 5:1
“Therefore, since we have been made righteous through His faithfulness combined with our faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We are righteous in His sight, not by what we accomplish but what He accomplished. He came to this earth in human form to not only die for us, but to give us the awareness that He can relate to our humanness. We now have peace with God, which may be different from feelings of calmness and tranquility. On one hand we are whole in Christ, on the other hand we are still a work in progress, still growing in Christ. Having peace with Christ means that we are not only saved but we are also reconciled with Him. There is no more hostility between us, meaning between God and man, no sin is separating us from a relationship with Him. Even when we are facing insurmountable odds, we have peace through Him. We can be confident in our hope in His promises.
Dear God, I praise your name, that you sent your only Son to die on the cross in order for us to break the bonds that chained us before. That we are privileged to have the opportunity for a relationship with you. Help me to remember that it is through your promises that I have peace. I pray for those who are still seeking peace and I pray that you give me your eyes and ears to see those in need. Thank you, Lord, for everything, in your Son’s name, Amen
