Psalm 5:1-3
“Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament. Hear my cry for help, my King and my God. For to you I pray. In the morning, Lord you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”
Do you pray first thing in the morning? I know personally that I try but don’t always achieve it. Life is busy, it seems as soon as my eyes open and feet hit the floor I am on the move. No time for prayer, or so it seems. But if we take the time to pray before we leave the bed, our first thought of the morning becomes a fervent prayer to our Lord, we grow closer in relationship with God. If we take the time before our minds our all jumbled up for the day with problems, we can commit our whole day to the Lord. Any relationship is benefited by regular communication, I know personally when I communicate with God first thing before my day starts, that the day does go better. Maybe I still have all the problems of any other day, but it seems that I am able to deal with a clearer mind the things that come across my path. Will you take the chance and pray to God first thing?
Dear Lord, please help me to stay in communication with you, especially before I start my day. I thank you that no matter what the time is you are there to meet with me. Help me to recognize how much I need you to peruse through my day. Thank you for always being available for whatever and whenever I come to you. I pray all this in Jesus name, Amen.
