Philippians 2:13
“For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”
What is one thing you would tell your younger self? I think mine would be that a great anointing does not equal a good character. Have you ever wondered why you didn’t receive that promotion that you so prayed for, why every relationship falls apart, or why haven’t great doors come open to us? Well, I certainly have had this happen. When I have prayed my heart out and what I have prayed for does not come to fruition, I get downtrodden. I forget that some things that we want are not what is in store for us through God. Our character matters to God, that is why he has given us access to the Holy Spirit to come inside us to work in us and to develop us to God’s will. This is not something God wants to take from you it is something He knows will give us life and give it abundantly. God does not care if you are the next great pastor, he does want you to have integrity. So he will delay opening certain doors until he helps us to have the growth that we need to succeed in humility and integrity. Can you yield and let God work in you?
Dear Lord, thank you that you love me so much that you want the best for me. Help me to focus on things that I need to change in order to be humble and have integrity. Give me patience to wait on you and to remember that you are working on me so that I may have the best life here on earth. You are so awesome that the more I come to know about you the more I see you want the best for me. I pray this through Jesus’ name. Amen.
