John 14:26

“But the advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

Isn’t it awesome that God has provided us with the Holy Spirit to help us to remember what Jesus promised us. All the things he taught to the disciples are relevant for us today. This promise confirms the validity of the New Testament. The disciples were eyewitnesses of the life and teachings of Jesus and the Spirit helped them to remember his teachings without taking away their own perspectives. This ensures that we can have confidence that the Gospels are an accurate record of what Jesus did and taught. Likewise, the Holy Spirit can help us in the same way He helped the disciples. We can trust the Spirit to put in our minds the truth of who God is and what He desires for us. What is the Holy Spirit teaching you?

Dear Lord, what an awesome gift you have given us when you sent the Holy Spirit to be with and in us. Remind me Lord of this fact. Help me to teach others of the Holy Spirit and what it can do in their lives. Thank you that you love us so much and give us so much mercy each day of our lives. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
