1 Samuel16:7

“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.’”

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Are you seeing your outward appearance, or do you look closer to the even my physique, which leaves a lot to be desired? I rarely look at the inside. What would I see if I looked closer? Will I see a woman devoted to God, one that helps others, or do I see a struggle there too? This verse tells us that we are God’s handiwork, He see us through our heart. What would happen if we spent as much time on what our hearts are like as we do our outwards appearance. When we see ugliness and not our beauty it’s almost like walking up to God to tell him he did a terrible job on me. We need to delve into the Word to see how God sees us. I intend to take the next week or so trying to relay how God sees us and how we should see ourselves. Where do you need to start?

Dear Lord, thank you that you see the beauty in me. Help me to see it too. Give me strength to really look at myself through your eyes. Provide me with your eyes to see what you see. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
