Psalm 9:1-3

“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High. My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you.”

When we praise God, we are expressing our understanding and appreciation of his abundant worth. We are thanking God for each aspect of his divine nature. When we praise God, our inward feelings become outward expressions. We expand our awareness when we praise him. In each of the Psalms you can find an attribute or characteristic to pray and thank God for. When we praise God, one of the natural results is telling others about him. When we acknowledge how loving, wonderful, and kind God, it inspires us with a desire to tell others. Praising God brings us closer to him and strengthens our relationship. Are you praising God?

Dear God, thank you for your love and kindness for me. Thank you that I have the opportunity to praise you. Help me to share your love and kindness with others. I thank you for all your wonderful deeds. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
