“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends understanding, will guard your heart and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
The peace of God is different than that of the world’s peace. How do we achieve this peace? Its by turning to Jesus, requesting help with your situation, through prayer and petition. I do not always remember this answer. I find it easier to work within my own abilities then to call on Jesus. Why is this? When I know that when we trust God, He works all things out in a way that is better for you. We might not see or even agree with the answer, but God knows everything about us and what we need. Let the peace of God guard your heart against anxieties of this world. These anxieties try to weigh us down and keep our eyes off of Jesus, but when we trust Jesus, we receive a peaceful perspective.
Dear Lord, I ask that today you help me to remember to call on your name in all circumstances. Give me your peace to know that you are in control and know what is best for my life. I praise you name that in the midst of anxiety I can rely on you to calm my spirit. Thank you for the day before me and please help me to focus on you. So, I don’t miss a thing you have for me. In your precious Son’s name. Amen.
